A million to march in London, March 26th

The TUC is organising a “March for the Alternative: Jobs, Growth and Justice“, a national march and rally against cuts on 26 March 2011, and you can get your coach ticket online from today! With over 1000 coaches and a million marchers expected, train tickets have all but sold out and we’re aiming to fill 5 coaches!
Coaches depart Memorial Gardens at the City Walls end of Leeman Road at 6.30am. We aim to be back in York at 11pm. Tickets cost £20 waged and £12 unwaged and can now be bought online, through our Saturday stalls and other events or by phoning 07980 316414. UNISON members should ring the office on 01904 553300.
Join members of York Stop the Cuts, York City UNISON branch, York Students against Cuts and more on the road to the biggest demonstration this country has seen in 8 years.
On the day: Although we will be dropping people in Central London, you will need to walk around a mile to join the march due to road closures, plus the 3 miles of the march itself – a total of 4 miles. However, due to coach parking constraints, everyone will need to take the tube from Hyde Park (the end point) to Wembley Park at a cost of £5; we plan to subsidise anyone who is unable to pay, however, we would ask that you cover this yourself if possible. On the plus side, this should speed up our exit from London, and ensure we can be home at 11pm.
